Maca is a hardy plant that grows in the a harsh climate of the High Andes mountains.

Difficult conditions, are believed to give it more health giving nutrition, by virtue of its relentless determination to grow!

Maca easily takes its place as a Nutritional Super, because of its incredible nutritional value in small amounts.

Besides being a chock full of nutrients, Maca has several benefits you can feel. This hardy plant thrives in difficult condition, and we reap the benefits.

It can increase:

  • energy
  • stamina
  • endurance
  • and even supports the libido!

Amazing Maca!

This amazing root plant, is also known as “Peruvian ginseng”. Ginseng is an herb that is known to increase vitality and energy.

Why is Maca such a dynamic Super Hero?

Although it is from the turnip family, it possess much more nutritional value than a traditional turnip.

It is considered a staple Superfood in the Andes, where it is indigenous.

What will it do for you?

Maca is a nutritional powerhouse of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients, that nourish the body at a cellular level. It enhances cellular function and decreases stress.

Maca is not a stimulant. It feeds the tissue and decreases stress at cellular level.

Maca can also help:

  • boost the immune system
  • provide vital nutrients necessary for overall health
  • increase stamina
  • and increase a general sense of well being.

I won’t bore you with too much history (just a little).

Maca’s attributes have been embraced for centuries.

The Inca warriors would consume maca before long journeys and even battles. Maca was even used for trade by these ancients, (from what I have read).

Many of today’s athletes, know the value of this incredible superfood, as well.

Personal Note: I really notice the increased endurance and calm steady energy it gives me for work and exercise. Take it before work or strenuous physical activity for week, and prove it to yourself.

Why is Maca so powerful?

Maca is an adaptagen.

Adaptogens are relatively rare plants. They create a very efficient cellular energy.

This is apparent with stress. The “stress response” and overall fatigue, may be significantly lessened with Maca.

Stress uses a lot of energy, and you can feel “worn out”. This can weaken immunity and create irritability.

It seems to clean up stress chemicals, at a cellular level. It can keep the mind clearer, and the  emotions steadier.

Maca and its many health benefits, is finally becoming widely known to the modern world.

Maca root is densely packed with nutrients. It is a whole food, not just part of one.

What high nutrition does Maca contain?

  • fatty acids (good for skin, hormones and heart health)
  • amino acids (building blocks of protein)
  • essential minerals (the body does not produce minerals)
  • high in plant sterols (helps normalize cholesterol)
  • vitamins (many are lost in processing and cooking)
  • phyto-nutrients (special to plant foods, that can favor health in specific organs)

This is a unique and amazing plant that is now easily available in powdered form. It also comes in convenient capsules. They are great to take into a long day.

This superfood is a “must add” to your healthy diet (I’m just sayin’…).

I know when I take it in the morning, I have a steady energy and a calmer countenance all day.

How to take Maca

Maca is a powerful food, with an earthy taste that is mildly nutty (but not necessarily as pleasant). You can take it in water, if you like.

I tend to add apples and pineapple and blend it. Experiment.

Maca powder can be blended into superfood smoothies, nut milks, or cacao.

Cacao does need a sweetener like fruit, honey or stevia.

The capsules are great if you are sensitive to the taste.

Remember, any one SuperFood, doesn’t take the place of a healthy diet, but it can greatly add to it!

Maca root is truly a Super Hero! Give it a try and let me know what you think.
